VPC - Victorian Pathways Certificate

The Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) is a new inclusive and flexible certificate.

It offers an engaging curriculum and additional support for our students to develop the work-related skills and capabilities they need to succeed.

The VPC is normally completed in year 11 and 12, however is flexible so it can be started earlier or finished over a longer period than 2 years. The coursework is designed and delivered at a more accessible level than the VCE and VCE Vocational Major. VPC can be studied at the student’s own pace and the teachers will assess the students’ progress through a range of project based and classroom activities.

At WDSS we value students having choice over their learning. As part of this program, students select which VPC group they are a part of. The way this is structured is three focus programs including Horticulture & Agriculture, Hospitality (WDSS Café) & Building & Construction.

For students to successfully complete the VPC, they need to show competency in a total of 12 units. These units are made up of a combination of 8 units from the 4 subjects, 2 units of VET subjects and 2 units from VCE VM or VCE subjects. The VPC is taught over 2 (or 3) years to assist with student comprehension. 80% attendance is required to pass the VPC.

Made up of 4 core subjects. Literacy - Units 1 & 2. Numeracy - Units 1 & 2. Personal Development Skills (PDS) - Units 1 & 2. Work Related Skills (WRS) - Units 1 & 2.
